Road Trip, Update 1

I am finally in Columbus, Ohio. It took me about 10 hours to get there.

Here is the route I took, with personally identifiable information removed.

I left at about 3:30 PM. Was speeding on I-65 at about 80 mph. Crossed exit 361 at 85 mph. 10 seconds after crossing that exit, I had to brake. Hard. Traffic had come to a standstill. In the rear view mirror, I saw people backing up after merging on to the highway. I knew something bad had happened. I turned on the radio, looking for some information on what to do. Then, I heard the news. I was stuck! For over an hour. To travel 2 miles.

I tried to take a picture of the offending tractor trailer, but unfortunately my camera was in the manual mode, and it was too late to take a picture as I passed it. Goddammit!

Then, I passed through Tennessee, which was very pretty. It was also a pretty quick drive through there.

As I was going through Kentucky, I saw an interesting sight. On the right side of the road, I saw a billboard for an adult bookstore. On the left side of the road, I saw another billboard which said **Hell is Real**. I thought it would be real funny if someone bought some more ad-space and placed it right below it which said “**And it is in Kentucky**”.

As soon as I passed those billboards, it got eerily dark, and lightning started to strike in the area which lay ahead of me. Then it started to drizzle, and then it started pouring. It seems like every trip I take, I drive through heavy rain. Note to self: Replace wiper blades.

Then, my check engine light came on, and I have yet to determine what the exact cause is.

It was a pretty uneventful drive to finish off the trip, with Google maps on the BlackBerry saving my skin a couple of times.

About robotgeek

Rocker, philosopher, Mac lover, geek, robotics freak and an optimist. These describe me adequately, i guess! When I find time away from my lab, I love to code my robots using java to be compatible with robocode . I also make it a point to visit Slashdot or read on Wikipedia . Of course, all this has to be done while listening to Pink Floyd, Led Zeppelin, Metallica or Pearl Jam, mostly on Shoutcast online radio . I also like to read. Though I don't find much time now, I generally stick to what I like, which is Ayn Rand. Let's just hope the world heads in the right direction 2004 has been the year of the blog, and I could not be left out!
