Day off!

I generally take saturdays off to read a book, or do something relaxing. Today, I decided to see what Flickr is all about.

And it is awesome. I wanted to see pics of Hyderabad, my hometown, the best place in the whole wide world (for food atleast!!) . And Flickr did the trick. Did a search for the tag “Hyderabad” and between mostly random pictures, I found stuff I liked. Like people eating bread-omlette near Hitech-city building, mangoes , new malls, the all pervasive Charminar, bowling alleys ( i think Alleygator), snow rinks, Secret Lake (ofcourse!). Stuff which I havent for about 2 years.

I looks like I can relive my memories through pictures… Awesome.

I know about what’s new in Hyderabad, after seeing with my own eyes…Awesome!

On another note, the IT revolution seems to have done all Hyderabadis a good turn. I keep hearing stories of people making loads of money, and not knowing how to spend it :) . Yeah, i’ve heard stories of people buying cell phones worth 10K and losing them, and buying another one for 25K :0.

Anyways, the final judgement is: Flickr rocks!

About robotgeek

Rocker, philosopher, Mac lover, geek, robotics freak and an optimist. These describe me adequately, i guess! When I find time away from my lab, I love to code my robots using java to be compatible with robocode . I also make it a point to visit Slashdot or read on Wikipedia . Of course, all this has to be done while listening to Pink Floyd, Led Zeppelin, Metallica or Pearl Jam, mostly on Shoutcast online radio . I also like to read. Though I don't find much time now, I generally stick to what I like, which is Ayn Rand. Let's just hope the world heads in the right direction 2004 has been the year of the blog, and I could not be left out!

    Damn,
You beat me to it. I registered on Flickr 4 days back and too lazy to upload pics.
